Tagaytay Highlands

There had been invitations and plans to visit Tagaytay Highlands before but these did not materialize. Finally, I and the other faculty members of our department were there on February 8, 2008, for the educational field trip for agricultural engineering students.

It was almost lunchtime when we arrived but our itinerary consisted of a merienda in the clubhouse. We had a super petite halo halo with matching turon!

After the "bitin" meal, we were briefed on the irrigation and wastewater facilities. The highlights of our visit were the cable car ride to the gardens and off to the sewage treatment plant and the 48-passenger-capacity funicular ride to the golf course in the Midlands. The rides gave us a panoramic view of Taal and the vicinity. Along the way, we saw the log cabins of the rich and famous.
