Guimaras

Guimaras... Our side trip while we were Iloilo. From the pier, we dropped by a souvenir shop and bought pasalubongs. I was intrigued with the mango catsup so I grabbed a bottle and bought other foodstuff. The island province is not only famous for its sweet, export-quality mangoes. It is also known for its white sand beaches and coves. On an off-peak month like February, we had the beach all to ourselves. We spent the afternoon on an island hopping tour.

We dropped by Baras beach resort but we did not stay long so we could cover more islands. Our boat entered a cave on one of the islands. Kind of creepy feeling but it was much more when saw a snake come out of the water and crawled on the rock nearby. It was a totally different kind of feeling when we dropped by the tortoise breeding area and when we held one of the turtles. The last stopover was on an area teeming with corals and fishes. The sky was overcast but we also got to enjoy the underwater experience as we snorkeled.
