I was back in Lucban on official travel. I didn't have enough time to go around the place because of our hectic schedule but on the last day of our stay, we had our farm tour and site visits.Our first stop was the 5-hectare Costales Nature Farms in Majayjay, Laguna - an agri-tourism destination. After a short briefing from the owner himself, we got to see the areas where they grow salad vegetables, other crops, and animals. It was amazing to learn that the farmer/owner used to work in the corporate world for many years, and had no background in agriculture but decided to retire early and venture into organic farming. He is now supplying vegetables and Peking ducks to high-end restaurants and supermarkets. The family is hands-on when it comes to managing the farm which also offers farm tour packages.
