Calapan, Oriental Mindoro

Where I grew up. Our family, as I recall, migrated to this capital town in the late 60s. We stayed in the house of my maternal grandparents first, and in the early 70s, our small house at the back of the old house was constructed. Our house was just a stone's throw away from the Adriatico Memorial School where I took my elementary education and finished with third honors. It was just a walking distance to Oriental Mindoro High School (now JJ Leido Jr. National Memorial High School where I graduated as one of the two class valedictorians - that was the first time in its history). Calapan is now a city, a busy hub connecting the other municipalities of the province to Batangas and nearby island provinces.
